Design
The Design subteam is responsible for designing the overall build and functions of the robot to meet challenge requirements. We design the robot with CAD using professional software like OnShape. The design team is in charge of selecting the parts and materials we need for the robot.
Mechanical
The Mechanical subteam builds and assembles the robot as specified by the Design team. They work with power tools and machines like 3D printers, welders, mills, and lathes to put the robot together. We learn to efficiently and safely use tools and machines from mentors.
Electrical
The Electrical subteam is in charge of designing and implementing the wiring diagram for the robot. The subteam connects motors, sensors, pneumatics, communications, and power together to make the robot run. You will learn electrical engineering concepts.
Programming
The Programming subteam creates the software to control the robot in both autonomous and manual modes. with a joystick controller. The subteam programs the software using Java and Visual Studio Code. They also manage the team repository on Github.Â
Business
Business is responsible for finding team sponsors, maintaining relationships with them, organizing fundraising events, providing financial tracking, designing team apparel and other merchandise, managing the team's social media, and documenting events.
Strategy/Drive Team
The Strategy subteam is a secondary subteam that studies the game rules and develops mock matches to develop the best strategy for our team to use during competitions. All drive team members must be a part of this subteam.
